i9 Sports
The kids enjoyed playing soccer and basketball with i9 Sports! They learned some new skills, got lots of energy out, and most importantly, had fun!
Open Play at the Community Center
We enjoyed open play at the Vienna Community Center. Kids had a chance to run around and play with balls, balloons, and more on a chilly March morning.
Rock Painting
The kids made lots of beautiful creations at our Rock Painting Play date at Nottoway Park.
Little Gym
We has a blast kicking off the month of March at Little Gym in Falls Church. While snow flurries fell outside, babies and toddlers participated in an instructor-led class and then tumbled, toss, and swung on all equipment during open play. Of course all that activity really worked up an appetite! We finished the morning with teeth-friendly snacks brought in by Dr. Niloo, with Children's Dentistry of Oakton.
Toddler Toy Swap
On beautiful Spring afternoon in March, we met at the Oakton Library for a Toddler Toy Swap! Everyone came with at least one toy someone else would genuinely enjoy even though it was no longer a favorite in their house. During the playdate we had so much fun with all the toys everyone had brought and, at the end, we all took home a different toy! Also, we had party favors to help ease the transition of saying goodbye while also welcoming home something new.
Music Together
We waived March goodbye by coming together for a musically at the Patrick Henry Library. Music Together of Vienna led us in songs and dance. Afterward, Dr Niloo, with Children's Dentistry of Oakton, provided drinks and snacks that were friendly to growing teeth.
Kids Move & Learn
One Sunday morning in April we gathered at the colorful office space of Merrifield Pediatric Dentistry for a Spring-themed playgroup with Kids Move and Learn. We started off with free play at stations that had been set up both indoors and outside for various games and crafts. Later on, their instructors led the kids in songs and dances to complement story time. Overall, it was an active way to celebrate this season of blossoming flowers and warmer weather.
Sensory Room at the Providence Community Center
We waived farewell to April by taking two groups to the Sensory Room at the Providence Community Center. The Sensory Room is a calming environment that offers various sights, sounds, and interactivity to promote physical and intellectual development. Our little ones enjoyed their lights, sounds, touch pads and swings in their stress-free environment.
Mother's Day at Nook
Nook invited Vienna Moms to celebrate Mother's Day with a playdate in their Mosaic District Space. Nook is a sensory-friendly space that emphasizes learning through play by the use of various "nooks" for different activities. The ball pit was certainly a favorite but little ones also enjoyed their play kitchen, trains, MobiKids toys, and foam building blocks!
Bubbles at Meadowlane Park
We had a bubbly good time on Thursday with a playdate at Meadowlane Park! Between the bubble machines and tons of fun sized wands, there was no shortage of bubbles for our little ones to chase.
Sidewalk Chalk
In early June we met on the patio of Vienna Baptist for bright and bold playdate with sidewalk chalk. The clear skies coupled with a refreshing breeze made it the perfect day for outdoor art. Our little ones had a blast transforming the gray concrete surface with sticks and sprays in dozens of colors. Of course, plenty of hands and outfits were transformed as well but fortunately it all washes off in the rain.
Police Playdate
We waived a bold "hello" to the start of summer by inviting the Police Department join us for a playdate! Town of Vienna Officer JC Vazquez, Animal Control Officer John Barker, and several other officers joined us at the Patrick Henry Library. On this blistering hot morning, the officers braved the heat to show us their vehicles and we brought out our imagination and creativity with animal and safety themed arts and crafts. There was no shortage of selfies either. Overall it was fun an exciting way to usher in a season of summertime adventures.
