Speaker Series

Speaker Series got our fall/winter season started with a talk about "The Talk". It was an extremely eye-opening discussion about the "Why and How of Talking to our Children about Sex and their Body". Melissa Kilbride was extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot of useful tips.

In December we enjoyed a fun DIY version of the Speaker Series and made Virginia themed picture frames together while enjoying some Mimosas. Mizz Mozaic walked us through step by step to create these unique masterpieces.

In January we welcomed a local group of therapists who discussed anxiety during these tough times and parenting today. We also had the College Funding Coach teach us some tips on saving for college starting now.

In February we did another DIY talk and made custom candles together with our hosts from Paddywax Reston. We then had a speaker discussing Speech and Feeding Tricks for kids.

In March we had a wonderfully relaxing mindfulness meditation and Restorative Yoga session which put us in a very mellow mood. We were also very excited to bring back local Vienna Mom, Karen Kaufman this month to discuss Spring Allergies.

A very popular new speaker we invited to talk to us in March, Sheila Murphy, talked about Strategies for Re-Entering the Workforce After a Career Break. I think it was great

information a lot of our moms can use now or in the future when they try to get back into the workforce.

This month we also learned all about our Pelvic Floor and whether or not kegel exercises are good for us.

In April, we relaxed and enjoyed some mimosa while doing a rainbow mosaic mirror making class with Mizz Mosaic. This was such a fun class in learning how to work with glass pieces to create a truly one of a kind piece of art for our home. Some kids even joined and created beautiful masterpieces.

We created our own Mother's Day Bouquets that will last 2 years, no water needed, with Petal+Eon.

At the end of March we will learn "How to Raise We are looking forward to our upcoming events. Racially Conscious Children."

We hope to see you there. We always try to make these fun and interesting so if you have any ideas you can send to us at LaurenJForbes@gmail.com
