Fall Events

Mom's Night Out

So far we have had two very successful events.

• MNO Virtual Wine Tasting was held on September 11th. 

• MNO Pure Barre Event was held on October 2nd

We know more VMI members wanted to attend than possible so the MNO committee will work hard to ensure there are many more exciting opportunities in the future. 

Philanthropy

Thank you to all who helped support the mission of local non-profit BRAWS: "to bring dignity and empowerment to women and girls living in shelters by providing personally fitted bras and underwear, tampons and pads." In September VMI came together to by sending them high need items. In one month our group provided 39 bras, 24 six-packs of underwear, and 135 boxes of tampons!

Speaker Series

Speaker Series got our year started with a talk about “Too Much Togetherness! Managing Family Conflict in the Age of COVID” with Megan Borishansky at the end of August, which gave moms some great tips on handling conflict at home.

Our other Fall speaker series topics included reading specialist Kim Creigh on Reading Comprehension, attorney Carrie Tipton on Estate Planning 101, and wellness coach Nicole Seevers on Staying Healthy through the Holidays.

We finished up October with digital wellness expert Denise Lisi DeRosa speaking about Parenting in the Digital Age.

Some upcoming talks we have for the remainder of the year are on Cyber Safety and Talking to Kids about Sex, so we hope to see you there!

Most talks are recorded and available for a short time after the event. Anyone that comes to the live event will be entered into a drawing for a gift card to a local Vienna business! You can also view past recordings by searching #speakerseries on the Facebook group.

Welcome Committee

The Welcome Committee had our first Zoom group call in September. We had a great time meeting some new members and chatting from afar.

Monthly Featured Event

Here are some of the awesome photos we got for the monthly kids event- diy mask kit! It was so fun to see how creative the kids were and that they enjoyed it! The winners of the $25 gift card to Kiln and Co. kit included a chocolate chip cookie from Crumbl in Vienna which was super yummy!
