Meet the 2020-2021 Board

Presidents: Emily Yahn & Christina Ohl-Trlica

Emily has lived in Vienna for 5 years and attributes her love for this community to Vienna Moms. Her 4.5 and 3 year old daughters keep her as busy as her graphic design business. Emily's excited to give back to Vienna Moms. It may not be a typical year of events, but she's excited to see how the board will creatively enable this wonderful community of families to stay connected.

Christina has lived in Vienna for 5 years and lived in Oakton for 9 years before that. She has been a member of Vienna Moms for over four years and has enjoyed helping put on events for Vienna Moms. She has three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 and is a land use attorney. She's excited to serve as co-president this year to help bring creative events to fellow moms to add some normalcy to everyone's lives.

Treasurer: Andi Sandborn

I am a mom of three: Anna (5), Claire (2), and Luke (6 months). By day, I'm a CPA at EY in Tysons. We really enjoy living in Vienna, even during quarantine! During normal circumstances we often participate in the various town events on the Town Green and love going to the farmers market. You may also find us running or biking on the W&OD trail or at Caboose Brewery. I hope to meet more fellow moms at upcoming events!

The board this year has been working hard to find creative ways to support our great community - I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Lauren currently works part time as a Corporate Meeting Planner and enjoys her time off playing with the kids and exploring everything that Northern Virginia/D.C. has to offer. They are always trying to find a new park or play place to try out, but also love having a good old fashion pajama day. They love the friendliness and community that Vienna offers and love being a part of Vienna Moms.

Philanthropy: Julia Taylor-Prebble & Lorien McGreevy

Julia: I moved to Vienna last year with husband and 1 year old daughter. Originally from Minnesota, I love winter sports and backyard BBQ’s. My husband and I lived all over the world before settling in NoVa a few years ago—but we’re avid travelers (or were!) and will never turn down an adventure. I currently work as a technology consultant in the Non-Profit sector. I’m so excited to be part of the 20-21 VMI Board and can’t wait to meet everyone!

Lorien: I'm Lorien (like Delorean without the De :)) and I'm one of your 20/21 Philanthropy Coordinators. I was born and raised in NOVA, grew up in McLean, and graduated from Langley HS. After that, I high-tailed it to southern VA for undergrad and received a Bachelors from JMU. I came back home, decided school was way too much fun and went back for my graduate degree at The George Washington University. I volunteered because I am passionate about philanthropy in my personal life. I'm acutely aware of how very lucky we are, and I'm trying to set the right example for my sons, while helping to make this world a better place in my own small way. You've got to start somewhere, right? Julia and I kicked off our first event (fundraising for BRAWS) and will be hosting ~6 fundraising events over the next year. Stay tuned for our upcoming holiday events! AND, if all goes well and COVID decides to get on out of here, we'll be throwing a fundraising gala at the end of our term (YAY, ADULT TIME OUT!). I'm looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can, and if COVID clears, I'm a hugger, so I'll be giving away all the free HUGS!

Vendor Fair: Maureen Neumann & Sara Snyder

Maureen is a mother of two daughters. The Neumann family moved to Vienna about 10 years ago. Vienna is a great place to raise a family. Maureen has volunteered to be the vendor fair coordinator to get to know Vienna more and help connect the local communities. Her name on Facebook is Terri Wu, her old name. Maureen currently leads a global sales operations team at an international satellite communications company. She can be reached at maureenneumann99@gmail.com. Please reach out with ideas for the vendor fair or anything!

Sara has lived in Vienna for 8 years and has enjoyed being a part of Vienna Moms community to meet new friends in town. She is a Mom to two energetic boys, Matthew (6) and Jeremy (4), who keep her laughing every day. Sara works in Digital Program Management at Capital One and enjoys exploring local hikes with her family, good coffee, and being a part of the Vienna Moms book club.

Welcome Committee: Abby Yu & Blair Matthews

Abby has lived in Vienna for four years and has a 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter. A food and wine lover, she enjoys finding new restaurants to visit, or more accurately, places to get takeout and delivery these days! Abby joined the VMI Welcome Committee this year because she loves meeting new moms and hopes to help new members feel a sense of mom-community in these atypical times.

Blair - This is Blair Matthews’ first year serving on the VMI board and she’ll be joining Abby on the “Welcome Committee” for our new members! Blair and her husband, Adam, live in the Eudora neighborhood with their 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. Blair loves the small town feel of Vienna, especially how easy it is to meet new people! Her favorite Vienna activities are the Summer on the Green concert series and trying out the many delicious restaurants our town has to offer.

Playgroups: Denise Seal & Angelena Hirzel

Denise is a long time Vienna resident, former Madison HS grad. She lives on the Oakton side of Vienna with her husband, 3 year old twin boys and (sometimes her older college kids when they are home). She works fulltime (now at home) for the Federal Government.

Angelena grew up in Vienna, left and came back to this charming place!  I worked on monthly featured events last year and am working with Denise on playgroups this year. We're excited to revamp the program especially in light of the pandemic. Look forward to another great year!

Monthly Featured Events: Alexis Wilson

I grew up in South Africa and recently move to Vienna from Seattle, WA. Very excited to be in this area and part of such an awesome and active mommy’s group I thought it would be a fun way to be a part of the community and to meet families. My wonderful husband and I have two exuberant little ones who wear the pants in the family but we wouldn’t have it any other way! When I’m not at home, I work as a dentist and love to cook, travel, attempt to stay active, which just leads to fun walks outdoors most of the time. I hope to help plan some fun kids events for the rest of the year!!

Mom's Night Out: Jessica Huff & Kristin Longwood

Jessica and her husband, Rhett have two children- Milly (3) and Frasher (1). Her family relocated to Vienna from their home in Nokesville VA this July. Jessica decided not to let COVID to get in the way of getting connected and meeting new friends so she volunteered for the MNO committee. Jessica is a Product Manager for the General Services Administration. In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking, exercising, and sharing good wine and food with friends. Jessica looks forward to meeting and connecting with all the VMI members soon.

Book Club: Jennifer Groves

As a military spouse that has lived in Vienna for almost five years, I was excited to find a local group of moms that enjoyed going out for fun mom time and meeting friends with common interests! I have three children aged 16, 13, and 11. I work at OrthoVirginia as a Physician Assistant and love getting together with friends to visit! Hope to meet more of you soon!
